The March Pumps Series 5 TE-5S-MD Centrifugal Pump includes a standard wet end composed of 316 stainless steel, Viton, and ceramic. There are two standard motors: the first is a 1 phase 110/220V (50Hz) or 115/230V (60Hz) 0.2 HP totally enclosed fan cooled motor, and the second is a 3 phase 230/460V 50/60Hz IEC totally enclosed 0.17 HP fan cooled motor. Note that there are performance differences between the hertz options. The pump is capable of handling mildly or highly corrosive chemicals, acids, and solvents, and is most often used for chemical recirculation, chemical transfer, and scrubber systems.

This pump is not self-priming and lacks a suction lift, thus requiring a flooded suction. The pump cannot be run dry as the impeller requires the liquid being pumped for lubrication. For liquids with a specific gravity greater than water, higher viscosity, or for elevated temperatures, a trimmed impeller may be necessary.
